The width and thickness of the water stop to be used depends on concrete thickness, the position of reinforcement, aggregate size and concreting method employed.
Generally, the 230mm width water stop is for wall of slab of 230mm thickness or more. For wall or slab less that 230mm thick, a narrower water stop of approximate equal to the wall or slab.
